Usage
Paraffin and Vegetable Wax:
Pale Shades…0.005% - 0.01%
(vanilla or ivory)
Medium Shades… 0.01% - 0.1%
(Red, Blue, Yellow)
Dark Shades…......0.1% – 0.2%
Typically, for a medium shade, 0.1-1kg of dye flake will color about 1000kg of wax.
Some fragrances can react with the dye flakes resulting in a brownish or grayish cast. A phone call to your sales representative can solve this problem for you – we are here to help!
Recommendations:
The recommended temperature for manufacturing with dye flakes is about 180ºF, or 85ºC. Working at higher temperatures or prolonged exposure to heat can degrade the colors, causing fading or color alteration to appear.
Dye Flakes are designed to be extremely soluble in wax. Therefore, extensive mixing should not be necessary.
Dye Flakes should be stored under ambient conditions with containers kept closed. Each color should be separately packed from other colors.
IMPORTANT: We recommend using a UV inhibitor for all color applications! Ask your sales representative for more information.
